Discovery – Sports 2010

RHINEBECK SCIENCE FOUNDATION DISCOVERY 2010: THE SCIENCE OF SPORTS
 
Free admission to a dozen presentations and activities that explore the physiology and mechanics of sports. Discover how science, technology, and engineering explain – and make possible – the games we love to play.
 
PLUS Soccer and Dodgeball Tournament for all ages K – 12 — and adults!

Soccer/Dodgeball Tournament Rules:
All teams must participate in both soccer and dodgeball. Games will be a maximum of 15 minutes.
There will be three age brackets:
   Elementary School (K-5) Games from 9 AM
   Middle School Age (6-8) Games from 10:30 AM
   High School Age (9-12) Games from 12 noon
   Adult Games from 2PM
Each team roster will include a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 players. 6 players on field at all times.
Each bracket will play in a round robin format.
All times will be mixed gender. Each team must field at least two players of each gender at all times.
All teams must have an adult (parent or team coach) sign up as team coordinator.
All players under the age of 19 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the individual waiver form in order to play in the tournament. Click here to download it.

Waiver of Liability:
Each team participating in the tournament does so at its own risk, and agrees to accept any and all responsibilities for any injury. Rhinebeck Central School District, RCSD staff, Rhinebeck Science Foundation, and event volunteers (collectively the Tournament Hosts) cannot accept any responsibility or liability for injuries received during the tournament. Each club / team acknowledges that soccer and dodgeball are contact sports and that they are participating in the tournament at their own risk. By registering for this tournament and by being accepted for this tournament each club / team agrees that the Tournament Hosts cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any injuries incurred during the tournament and that each club / team will be responsible for their own players and coaches for any injuries that they may incur. Each club /team will hold the Tournament Hosts harmless for any and all claims arising as a result of any injury to a member of their team.  Each club / team acknowledges that they have informed all participants and their parents/guardians of the above.
